The Southeastern Channel has been honored with two national Finalist awards for its student sportscast, “The Big Game”, at the College Sports Media Awards held at the Sports Video Group’s annual College Sports Summit in Atlanta. The sportscast nabbed two of the five national Finalist slots for “Outstanding Live Non-Game Production” in the Collegiate Student division. The episodes honored were the November 16, 2017 show and the “Quick Hits” version of the March 8, 2018 “Big Game”. Attending the CSMA awards were (left to right) Southeastern Channel general manager Rick Settoon along with”Big Game” anchors Andrew Scherer and Richie Solares, who appeared in the winning March 8, 2018 episode. Major conference schools from across the country entered the competition. Companies like ESPN, CBS, and the SEC Network competed in the National Network division. Andy Katz of ESPN was emcee for the awards ceremony.
