Former Southeastern Channel news producer, reporter and anchor Tyler Waggenspack has been hired as a TV news producer in Baton Rouge (DMA 97) at WVLA-TV (NBC) Ch. 33 and WGMB-TV (FOX) Ch. 44. At WVLA (NBC) Waggenspack produces the 6 pm. and 10 pm. newscasts Wednesdays through Saturdays and the 5 pm. and 10 pm. newscasts on Sundays. He also produces the 9 pm. weekend newscasts on WGMB (FOX). Waggenspack moved to WVLA/WGMB after a stint as a reporter for KNOE-TV Ch. 8 (CBS/ABC) in Monroe, La. (DMA 137) and two years as an anchor-reporter at KCWY-TV Ch. 13 (NBC) in Casper, Wyoming (DMA 198). While at the Southeastern Channel Waggenspack was an award-winning reporter for the student newscast, “Northshore News”, winning “Mark of Excellence” awards for news reporting and videography given by the Society of Professional Journalists and “Best of South” honors given by the Southeast Journalism Conference.
