Former Southeastern Channel producer, director, videographer and editor Danielle Shearer Hodges has been hired as News Producer for WALA-TV FOX 10 in Mobile, Ala. (DMA 57). At WALA, Hodges produces the morning newscast and is Video Editor of the morning shows which reach from Mobile to the Pensacola and Fort Walton Beach, Fla. areas. Prior to WALA, Hodges was the Video Producer for Faith Center Foursquare Church in Northern California (Eureka). Immediately after graduating from Southeastern in May of 2016, Hodges was hired as Marketing Producer in the Creative Services department for KATC-TV Ch. 3 (ABC) in Lafayette (DMA 123). At KATC, Hodges produced sweeps promos and wrote and produced daily topicals, social media video/teases, graphics for the website and social media, logs, and syndicated promo tags. While at the Southeastern Channel, Hodges produced, wrote, directed, shot, edited and acted for the student entertainment show, “College Night”, named fourth-best in the nation for “Student Video Comedy” by College Broadcasters, Inc. at the National Student Production Awards in Philadelphia. A year earlier, Hodges was named a 2015 CBI National Finalist (one of the top four in the nation) in Minneapolis for her “Video Promo” for the student sportscast, “The Big Game”. Hodges also shot and edited a variety of live entertainment, sports, and educational programs while at the Southeastern Channel.
