The Southeastern Channel will air a new documentary about former reporter-anchor Dylan Domangue who overcame cerebral palsy to become one of the top student broadcasters in the nation. “12 seconds at birth”, a 17-minute documentary produced by Domangue for his Comm 498 senior portfolio project, will debut at 8 pm. Wednesday, August 5th on the Southeastern Channel and will air multiple times during the coming weeks. Domangue was afflicted with the disorder when he was deprived of oxygen for 12 seconds at birth, and the documentary shows how he’s overcome a lifetime of obstacles stemming from disability to become a multiple national and regional award winner for news and sports reporting and anchoring, videography, and live game broadcasts. Domangue recently won first in the nation for his news videography awarded by the prestigious Society of Professional Journalists. A May 2020 Southeastern graduate, Domangue was hired as a news reporter-anchor for KALB-TV Ch. 5 (NBC) in Alexandria, La. The documentary can be seen on Spectrum 199 in Tangipahoa, St. Tammany, Livingston, and St. Helena parishes and on Roku and Apple TV.
