Former Southeastern Channel videographer-editor Jonathan Calhoun has been hired as a videographer-editor for Paper Jacket Marketing in Tampa, Fla. There Calhoun will be in charge of visual creative content as the company’s primary video editor and videographer, working with clients to produce marketing videos from the scriptwriting phase through post-production. In recent months, Calhoun produced promotional videos and PSAs for clients throughout Florida and Georgia. Through his company Collateral Beauty Productions, Calhoun has produced, directed, shot and edited videos for individual clients such as the Atlanta Black Star company, Ballatore Strength Training, Always True Clothing company, Built by Blanca, the city of Gainesville, Fla., the PSA “Stuck in Place”, and a spec video for Nike. Having recently worked as a producer in the Creative Services branch of the University of Florida’s Marketing and Communications and Pharmacy and Health Sciences Department, Calhoun has produced promos for the university’s Creative Services department, the “Healing with the Arts” program, and the College of Pharmacy. Calhoun has also produced wedding videos and a variety of other productions for various clients in the Gainesville area. A 2017 Southeastern graduate, Calhoun shot and edited a variety of Southeastern Channel productions, including the Emmy-winning stop-motion animation commercial “The Cajun Spoon: Two Meals, One Spoon”, produced for the Cajun Spoon seasoning brand and dry dinner mix company of Baton Rouge. In addition, Calhoun won an Emmy nomination for a public service announcement about the effects of bullying that he produced, directed, shot, and edited entitled, “Words Hurt.”
