Former Southeastern Channel sports reporter-anchor Chris Mycoskie has been named a winning member of the “Best Live Broadcast Team” in the state for 2019 by the Louisiana Sportswriters Association. Mycoskie, as color analyst, teamed with play-by-play announcer Lyn Rollins to win first place in the statewide television category. The pair won for their football broadcasts of Louisiana Tech and Louisiana-Monroe football games from the 2019 fall season. Mycoskie is currently a freelance sports broadcaster who’s done play-by-play and color analyst work for Conference USA basketball games and handled analyst duties for Sun Belt and Conference USA football games on ESPN platforms. He’s also done play-by-play for Texas Legends home games in the NBA G League for Fox Sports Southwest. Mycoskie recently served as Associate Commissioner for Broadcast and New Media for the Southland Conference, acting as Executive Producer for all league productions while developing other television broadcast opportunities for the league. He oversaw the Southland’s video streaming efforts through the Southland Conference Digital Network and headed the league office’s social media planning and execution. Prior to that Mycoskie worked as the Southland’s Assistant Commissioner and Director of Television and Electronic Media from 2011-2017. In 2014 and 2018 Mycoskie’s play-by-play was instrumental in Southland Conference baseball and softball broadcasts for ESPN3 winning national finalist recognition at the College Sports Media Awards in Atlanta. In 2019, Mycoskie joined the staff at Spoken Word Communications to head up their sports division. A 2010 Southeastern graduate, Mycoskie was anchor-reporter for “The Big Game” student sportscast while at the Southeastern Channel.
