Former Southeastern Channel videographer-editor Cameron Pittman has been honored with first place in the nation for “Best Video Public Service Announcement” at its 2020 National Student Production Awards ceremony. Pittman’s, “Gunny McShoot!”, a 30-second PSA about family gun safety for the End Family Fire organization, was selected for the national honor. While at the Southeastern Channel, Pittman edited a variety of projects, including lectures, music events, and promos. He also wrote, directed and edited comic vignettes for the Channel’s award-winning student comedy show, “College Night”. In addition, Pittman produced and edited a Christmas cartoon segment for the Southeastern Channel. He graduated from Southeastern in August. Pittman’s honor was one of three national first-place awards for the Southeastern Channel in the 2020 CBI competition, the most by any university in television and video from over 1,000 entries across the U.S. The Channel has now won 10 first place national awards given by CBI.
