Former Southeastern Channel news and sports reporter-anchor Dylan Domangue has provided storm coverage for the central Louisiana region as a News Reporter/Anchor for KALB-TV Ch. 5 (NBC) in Alexandria, La. (DMA 181). His storm stories have included officials preparing for Hurricane Delta, property flooding after Delta, Alexandria being declared in a state of emergency after Delta, hurricane impacts on farmers, Camp Grant and the mosquito population, and a live shot on the damage in Winn Parish. Domangue’s focus at KALB is reporting on the city council and police jury as well as other stories throughout central Louisiana. During his four years at the Southeastern Channel Domangue won a multitude of national and regional awards for his reporting, anchoring, videography, and for his live directing and play-by-play of sports broadcasts for ESPN-Plus. He was recently honored by the prestigious Society of Professional Journalists with first place in the nation for “Broadcast News Videography” and second place in the nation for “Broadcast Sports Videography”. Domangue won first in the nation at the 2019 National Student Production Awards given by College Broadcasters, Inc. for the weekly “Big Game” sportscast for which he was producer, anchor, and reporter, and for a live football game broadcast for which he was a producer and play-by-play announcer. Domangue has been named ‘Best College TV Journalist in the South” at the Southeast Journalism Conference (SEJC) (40 schools from an eight-state region), and he’s won regional reporting awards from the Louisiana-Mississippi Associated Press College Broadcasters and the Society of Professional Journalists (Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee). Live football game broadcasts he’s produced and directed have won national Finalist (top 4 in the nation) honors at the College Sports Media Awards and Broadcast Education Associations’ (BEA) Festival of Media Arts. Domangue won a Suncoast Region student Emmy for a football game broadcast, and he was nominated in the On-Camera Talent competition. Domangue won Emmy scholarships three separate years.
