Former Southeastern Channel news anchor-reporter Dana DiPiazza, now a news and traffic reporter for WBRZ-TV Ch. 2 (ABC) in Baton Rouge, has provided storm coverage for south Louisiana viewers during the 2020 hurricane season. Her stories have included highway closures due to Hurricane Laura, relief efforts for Laura victims, and Livingston Parish flooding prior to tropical depression Beta. DiPiazza is currently Traffic Reporter for the 4 pm. and 5 pm. newscasts each day Monday through Friday while serving as General Assignment News Reporter on Fridays. In addition, she produces and writes daily news stories for the WBRZ News website at wbrz.com. DiPiazza graduated from Southeastern in December 2019 and began working at WBRZ on Jan. 2, 2020. At the Southeastern Channel DiPiazza was a regular anchor-reporter for the national award-winning newscast, “Northshore News”, leading it to top Society of Professional Journalist Mark of Excellence Awards and first-place honors given by the Associated Press College Broadcasters and Southeast Journalism Conference.
