She won second place in the nation honors given by the SPJ for “Best Overall Television News Magazine” for her co-anchoring and reporting for the Southeastern Channel’s News Magazine, “Southeastern Times.” The program also won first place in SPJ’s regional “Mark of Excellence” awards for “Best Overall TV News Magazine” for Region 12 (Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas). In addition, Normand won an SPJ “Mark of Excellence” first-place award in Region 12 for “Best Television News Feature Story” for her feature on Juliana Puipuro of Mandeville. Normand’s reporting played a key role in “Northshore News” winning first place for “Best Television Newscast” along with “Best of Show” at the 2020 Louisiana-Mississippi Associated Press College Broadcasters Awards. Normand graduated from Southeastern on December 8th.
