Former Southeastern broadcasting student Jeff Horchak is now the Evening News Anchor at KLAF-TV Ch. 14 (NBC) and KADN-TV Ch.15 (FOX) in Lafayette, La. For KLAF/KADN, Horchak anchors the 5 pm., 6 pm., 9 pm., and 10 pm. newscasts. Horchak’s recent stories have included the plight of the Acadiana farmer and the Port of Iberia dredging project. Horchak moves to Lafayette from KNOE-TV Ch. 8 News (CBS/ABC) in Monroe where he was News Anchor at 5 pm., 6 pm., and 10 pm. for two years and won a Louisiana Association of Broadcasters (LAB) Prestige Award for “Best Election Coverage.” Prior to that, Horchak was Morning Show News Anchor/Reporter for five years and Sports Anchor-Reporter for seven years at KLFY-TV Ch. 10 (CBS) in Lafayette. During that time he was honored by the LAB for “Best Morning Show” with “Passe’ Partout”. A 2003 graduate of Southeastern, Horchak initially worked as News Reporter at KLTV Ch. 7 (ABC) in Tyler, Tx. (DMA 114) followed by a stint as Sports Director at KALB-TV Ch. 5 (NBC/CBS) in Alexandria, La. (DMA 181) before moving to KLFY-TV in Lafayette (DMA 122).
