The Southeastern Channel was honored with 1st Place in the nation this past weekend at the College Broadcasters, Inc. 2017 National Student Production Awards at the annual National Student Electronic Media Convention in San Antonio. From 856 entries from all schools across the nation, the channel won top honors in the country for Best Video News Reporting for Northshore News reporter Amanda Kitch’s story on “Amite River Flooding” about the Great Flood of 2016. Also honored as tops in the nation was the channel’s student sportscast, “The Big Game”, which won for Best Video Sportscast.
