The Southeastern Channel was the top winner of first-place television awards at the “Mark of Excellence” awards gala presented by the prestigious Society of Professional Journalists at their annual Region 12 (Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee) conference in Little Rock, Ark. recently. “Northshore News” won first place for “Best All-Around Television Newscast” while other first-place winners included Amanda Triay’s “To Speak Again” for “Television In-Depth Reporting”, Tara Barbe for “Broadcast News Videography”, Amanda Kitch for “Broadcast Feature Videography”, and Jaylon Morris for “Broadcast Sports Videography”. Amanda Kitch won three second-place awards, including two for “Broadcast News Videography” and one for “Television Feature Reporting”, while other second-place awards went to Wesley Boone for “Television Sports Reporting”, Jordan Rheams for “Broadcast Sports Videography”, and Amanda Triay and Maria Goddard for “Broadcast Feature Videography”.
