“NORTHSHORE NEWS” NAMED REGION’S BEST NEWSCAST

For the fifth time, the Southeastern Channel student newscast, “Northshore News”, has been named the top television newscast in the region out of all colleges in Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas and Tennessee by the prestigious Society of Professional Journalists. “Northshore News” won a first-place SPJ “Mark of Excellence” award for “Best All-Around Television Newscast” award at the SPJ’s annual Region 12 conference in Little Rock, Ark. recently. Since 2007, “Northshore News” has been honoured by the SPJ with first place five times and second place four times.
