Southeastern Channel students recently dominated top honors in television at the 2018 Louisiana-Mississippi Associated Press College Broadcasters Awards in New Orleans. The Channel won seven first-place awards in the 10 television categories along with nine finalist honors, or half of the finalists given. The next closest school was the University of Mississippi with three. Wesley Boone won the event’s “Best of Show in Television”, which included a cash award, along with winning first place for “Best TV Feature Story”, “Best TV Videographer”, and second-place for “Best TV Sports Story.” Amanda Kitch claimed first-place honors for “Best TV Reporter” and “Best TV News Story” along with second place for “Best TV Newscast.” Amanda Triay won first place for “Best TV Documentary” while Freddie Rosario and John Sartori won first place for “Best TV Sportscast.”
