Former Southeastern Channel student producer-director Amanda Triay recently won a second-place Silver Remi Award in the College Level Student Film & Video category at the 67th annual WorldFest International Film Festival in Houston. Triay produced, directed, shot and edited the winning film, a 10-minute Southeastern Channel documentary, “To Speak Again”, about Hammond resident and stroke victim Benny Latino’s remarkable recovery of his speech. While at the Southeastern Channel Triay won a Student Production Award given by the Suncoast Emmys for directing her short film, “Insomniac.” Triay is currently Marketing Producer at WAFB-TV Ch. 9 (CBS) in Baton Rouge where she produces commercials and promotional spots in the Creative Services department of the station.
