Former Southeastern Channel news anchor-reporter Paul Rivera, currently an anchor-reporter for WIS-TV (CBS) Ch. 10 in Columbia, S.C. (DMA 77), recently traveled to the Mexican border to report live on the border crisis and cover Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin’s protest of immigration policy. Benjamin led a delegation of mayors from around the country to speak about family separation at the border facilities. While at the Southeastern Channel as anchor-reporter for “Northshore News”, Rivera won multiple top awards, including Louisiana’s “Student Broadcaster of the Year” presented by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters. After graduating in 2015, Rivera began as anchor-reporter at KLTV Ch. 7 (ABC) in Tyler, Tx. before moving to WIS in Columbia.
