Award-winning Southeastern Channel producer-reporter Tara Barbe has been hired as a TV news producer for KALB-TV Ch. 5 (NBC) in Alexandria, La. (DMA 178). Barbe will begin in her new position October 1st, and she will produce both the 12 noon and 5 pm. newscasts. At the Southeastern Channel Barbe produced and reported for the national award-winning student newscast, “Northshore News”, along with the newsmagazine, “Southeastern Times.” For her news reporting, producing and videography, Barbe won numerous awards in 2017-18 given by the Society of Professional Journalists, Southeast Journalism Conference, Society of Collegiate Journalists, and College Media Association.
