Five Southeastern Channel productions have been named National Finalists by College Broadcasters, Inc. for 2018 National Student Production Awards. National Finalist recognition means that each production was selected among the top four from all universities in the country in its specific category. Winners will be announced at the National Electronic Media Convention Oct. 27th in Seattle. Channel finalists this year are Amanda Kitch in Best News Reporting Video for her “Northshore News” story, “Mandeville Beach”; “The Big Game” sportscast from March 8, 2018 in the Best Sportscast Video category; the Sept. 8, 2017 episode of “College Night” for Best Comedy Video; the “Proud Dad” public service announcement produced by Jeremy Gaines for Best PSA Video; and the “Don’t Procrastinate” public service announcement produced by Jennifer Doss, also for Best PSA Video.
