Former Southeastern Channel student producer-director Amanda Triay (Carlin) is currently featured in the “Louisiana Next” issue of the Baton Rouge Business Report, one of the most popular magazines in Baton Rouge. In a special college edition Triay is spotlighted in a special section, “Real People, Real Jobs“, on page 54 of the periodical (scroll to the page on the magazine link). There she talks about her job as Marketing Producer in the Creative Services Department at WAFB-TV (CBS) Ch. 9 in Baton Rouge (DMA 93) and how the Southeastern Channel prepared her for the job. At the Southeastern Channel, Triay won multiple awards for projects she wrote, produced and directed, including a student Emmy for the short film, “Insomniac”, and first-place awards for her short documentary, “To Speak Again”, at the WorldFest International Film Festival and the Mark of Excellence regional awards given by the Society of Professional Journalists.
