Former Southeastern Channel news anchor-reporter Kristen Durand has been hired as a TV news reporter at KTUU-TV (NBC) Channel 2 in Anchorage, Alaska (DMA 145). Durand arrives in Anchorage after five years as an anchor-reporter for WXXV-TV (NBC/FOX) Channel 25 in Gulfport, Ms. (DMA 157) where she was the weekday morning and noon anchor for WXXV’s “News 25 Today” newscast. At the Southeastern Channel, Durand was anchor-reporter for the award-winning student newscast, “Northshore News”, and won a Mark of Excellence Award given by the Society of Professional Journalists. She also anchored the newsmagazine, “Southeastern Times” while at the Channel.
