Former Southeastern Channel producer-videographer-editor Chris LeCoq has expanded the distribution of his popular outdoors show, “Bayou Wild”, to additional television stations this year, including WBRZ-TV (ABC) Channel 2 in Baton Rouge at 6:30 am. on Saturdays. The weekly show, which was selected for both first and second-place awards for Excellence in Craft by the Louisiana Outdoor Writers Association, will also air on EATEL and Vision cable and WUPL 54 in New Orleans in addition to WBRZ and Cox Sports Television (CST), which aired the initial 45 episodes last year. The show is co-hosted by Don Dubuc, award-winning outdoor journalist/broadcaster and Captain Martha Spencer, former WGNO meteorologist. LeCoq produces, shoots and edits each episode of “Bayou Wild” and continues to edit the award-winning, weekly outdoors show he originally produced, “Paradise, Louisiana”, for CST. In addition to Louisiana, LeCoq has shot “Bayou Wild” episodes in Mississippi, Florida, Texas, South Dakota and Alaska. He has been honored multiple times for best outdoors show and outdoors show writer by the Louisiana Outdoor Writing Association. Along with his outdoor shows, LeCoq works as a freelance cameraman for the SEC Network, ESPN, ABC and FOX sports events, and he produces for the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame. At the Southeastern Channel, LeCoq was a national award-winner for his work on the Big Game sportscast, Northshore News newscast, and College Night entertainment show. He also shot live sports and entertainment events and edited a variety of projects, including lectures. Even though he was a student, LeCoq won a professional Emmy nomination for editing the lecture, “Paul is Dead”, about myths surrounding Paul McCartney delivered by communication faculty member Joe Burns.
