Former Southeastern Channel sports reporter-anchor Allen Waddell will once again host “Inside Southeastern Basketball with Jay Ladner” this season. The hour-long show debuts at 7 pm. Monday, Jan. 7th at Rainbow Daiquiris in Hammond and will air weekly through March 4th. The show is streamed live on Facebook at www.facebook.com/sluathletics with the audio stream at www.LionSports.net/listenlive and via the Radio FX and TuneIn Radio apps. The radio broadcast can be heard on the Southeastern Sports Radio Network (KSLU-FM (90.9), Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and WFPR 1400 AM. Waddell has also hosted the Frank Scelfo and Matt Riser Southeastern football and baseball coach’s shows, respectively, for the past eight years. In addition, Waddell serves as color commentator for the live radio broadcasts of Southeastern football games and co-hosts the All State Sugar Bowl Prep Football Roundup on WWL 870 AM radio in New Orleans. While at the Southeastern Channel Waddell anchored and reported for the Big Game sportscast, hosted the Lion Tracks coach’s show, and served as the play-by-play announcer for Southeastern football, basketball, baseball and softball game broadcasts. His 2007 Lady Lions basketball broadcast with Texas-San Antonio was named a national finalist, one of the top four in the nation, at the National Student Production Awards given by College Broadcasters, Inc. in Washington, D.C. Waddell currently manages Gateway Ford in Ponchatoula.
