The Southeastern Channel’s student newscast, “Northshore News”, was named 1st Place “Best College Video News Program in the South” this past weekend at the Southeast Journalism Conference (SEJC) in Murfreesboro, Tn. “Northshore News” won 1st Place out of nearly 40 universities throughout the southeast region of the U.S., including Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. It was the sixth time that “Northshore News” has been honored with 1st Place. Anchoring the winning newscasts were Amanda Kitch of Covington, Wesley Boone of Alexandria, and Parker Berthelot of Mandeville.
