Former Southeastern Channel reporter-anchor Richie Mills has been hired as a TV news producer at WGNO-TV Channel 26 (ABC) in New Orleans (DMA 50). At WGNO Mills will produce the station’s newscasts. Mills moves to New Orleans from Shreveport (DMA 82) where he was a news reporter for KTBS-TV Channel 3 (ABC) and served as East Texas Correspondent. Prior to that Mills was a news producer at KATC-TV Channel 3 (ABC) in Lafayette (DMA 120) where his morning newscast won first place in the Associated Press Louisiana-Mississippi Broadcasters competition. At the Southeastern Channel Mills was reporter-anchor for “Northshore News” and reporter-anchor-producer for “The Big Game” sportscast, winning national honors from the Videographer Awards and regional Mark of Excellence honors from the Society of Professional Journalists.
