Southeastern Channel students have been named winners of four first-place Mark of Excellence awards and five finalist honors by the Society of Professional Journalists at their 2019 Region 12 (Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee) conference in Nashville, Tn. First-place winners were Andrew Scherer of New Orleans for Television Sports Reporting, Dylan Domangue of Houma for Television Sports Videography, and Amanda Kitch of Covington for both Broadcast News Videography and Broadcast Feature Videography. Winning Finalist (second-place) awards were Parker Berthelot of Denham Springs for Broadcast News Videography, Schuylar Ramsey of Springfield for Broadcast Feature Videography, Freddie Rosario of Luling for Television Sports Reporting, Kitch for Television Feature Reporting, and “Northshore News” for Best All-Around Television Newscast.
