Former Southeastern Channel anchor-reporter Randi Rousseau is entering her 11th year as a television news anchor for WDSU-TV (NBC) News Ch. 6 in New Orleans. Rousseau, who has been at WDSU since 2005, was elevated to anchor in 2009 and in 2010 became a celebrity fixture as Morning Anchor and host of “WDSU This Morning”. After graduating from Southeastern in 2005, she began at WDSU as an intern and then worked her way up the ladder to on-air traffic reporter and then general assignment reporter before becoming a full-time anchor of the 4 pm. newscast in 2009 and then co-anchor of the morning newscast in 2010. In 2013, she was named one of the top two TV news anchors in New Orleans by the New Orleans Press Club and also won third place for Best Sports Feature that year. In 2018 Rousseau won 1st Place for “Best Medical/Health Report” at the club’s 60th annual “Excellence in Journalism” gala. At the Southeastern Channel, Rousseau was the first-ever anchor of the national award-winning student sportscast, “The Big Game”, and also co-anchored and reported for the award-winning student newsmagazine, “Southeastern Times.”
