Former Southeastern Channel reporter-anchor Michael Vinsanau reports daily for WDSU-TV Channel 6 (NBC) in New Orleans (DMA 50) as both the North Shore Bureau Chief (Wednesdays through Sundays) and General Assignment Reporter in the city of New Orleans (Monday and Tuesday nights). Vinsanau is on the air live every night at 4, 5, and 6 reporting from a remote location either on the North Shore or in New Orleans. Vinsanau was instrumental in live WDSU coverage of Hurricane Barry several weeks ago. See several of his WDSU stories at the links below. At the Southeastern Channel Vinsanau was a multiple award-winning reporter, winning second place for “Best Hard News Reporter in the South” at the Southeast Journalism Conference (all colleges from eight states) and an honorable mention student Emmy for a feature story he produced for the student newscast, “Northshore News”, Vinsanau has been at WDSU since 2017 when he started as Morning Reporter. Prior to that, he was Morning Reporter and Producer for WBRZ-TV Channel 2 (ABC) in Baton Rouge (DMA 94). He graduated from Southeastern in May of 2015.
