The Southeastern Channel’s student newscast, “Northshore News”, won 2nd Place in the Nation honors for “Best Video Newscast” at the College Broadcasters, Inc. annual National Student Production Awards convention in St. Louis over the weekend. “Northshore News” won from over 1120 entries from across the country. Anchors for the winning newscast (10/22/2018) were Amanda Kitch and Parker Berthelot. Kitch and Berthelot also contributed packages to the “Northshore News” the specific “Northshore News” episode that won. Other reporters Taylor Sharp, Tyler Hampton, Andrew Scherer, Christopher Rosato, Schuylar Ramsey, and Lily Gayle. The producers were Kitch, Kyle Orleans and Gaby Raby. Earlier in the year “Northshore News” was selected as 1st Place “Best College Video News Program in the South” at the Southeastern Journalism Conference (8 states) and winner of a 1st Place “Mark of Excellence Award” for “Best College Newscast” given by the Society of Professional Journalists.
