Former Southeastern Channel news reporter-anchor Caroline Patrickis, a reporter at WJLA-TV (ABC) Channel 7 in Washington, D.C. (6th largest U.S. TV market), recently won the TVNewsCheck Social Media Excellence Award for Media Talent for a story she enterprised and produced on a Washington, D.C. Pakistani restaurant that provides free meals to homeless people. Patrickis recently covered the Oscars, CMA Awards, and the World Series champion Washington Nationals, for WJLA.

After graduating from Southeastern in 2014, Patrickis was hired as a TV news reporter-anchor for KNBN-TV NewsCenter One (NBC) in Rapid City, South Dakota (DMA 175) before at stint at WIS-TV Ch. 10 (CBS) in Columbia, S.C. prior to moving to KJLA. At the Southeastern Channel Patrickis was an anchor-reporter for the award-winning student newscast, “Northshore News”, along with the newsmagazine, “Southeastern Times”, and the student sportscast, “The Big Game.”
