Southeastern Channel reporter-anchor Chris Rosato has been named Louisiana Student Broadcaster of the Year in Television for 2020 by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters at its annual Prestige Awards luncheon at L’auberge in Baton Rouge. Rosato was honored by the LAB, comprised of all television and radio professionals in Louisiana, out of all college television students in the state. Rosato presented his acceptance speech at the event attended by professionals from all commercial television and radio stations in Louisiana.

In the 7 years that the LAB has presented the Louisiana Student Broadcaster of the Year award, a Southeastern Channel student has won it 5 times with the winners currently enjoying success in their television careers right out of college. Rosato also recently won honors at the Southeast Journalism Conference (40 universities from eight states in the southeast U.S.), bringing home 3rd Place honors as “Best Television Journalist in the South” and 3rd Place in onsite competition for “Television Anchoring.” Rosato is an anchor-reporter for the Southeastern Channel’s student newscast, “Northshore News”, recently ranked 2nd in the nation by College Broadcasters, Inc. for “Best College TV Newscast.” Also honored at the LAB’s Prestige Awards ceremony was Southeastern Channel reporter-anchor Raychelle Riley, who was presented with the LAB’s Student Broadcasting Scholarship worth $4,000.
