Former Southeastern Channel news reporter-anchor Alliyah Sims reports daily on stories for the Quad Cities area of northwestern Illinois, including Rock Island and Moline, and Davenport and Bettendorf, Iowa. As a reporter for WHBF-TV Ch. 4 (CBS) in Rock Island, Ill. (DMA 103), Sims files lead stories like community reaction to a stolen truck accident, recent protests, and law enforcement safety. She’s also reported on community concern over lost pets, and pandemic stories such as how the Coronavirus help save a man’s life, traveling during the pandemic, and how an Eagle Scout honored first responders. Sims moved to Rock Island from KTBS-TV (ABC) Ch. 3 in Shreveport, La. (DMA 83) where she was a news reporter. Before that, she spent two years as a bureau reporter for WABG-TV Delta News 15 in Greenwood, Ms. where she covered the Northeast Mississippi beat. While at the Southeastern Channel, Sims was reporter-anchor for the national award-winning student newscast, “Northshore News”. Sims is a 2017 Southeastern graduate.
