Former Southeastern Channel news and sports anchor-reporter Taylor Rubach, now the prime-time news anchor for WXXV-TV Ch. 25 (FOX/NBC) in Gulfport/Biloxi, Ms., has been anchoring WXXV daily newscasts with storm coverage along the Gulf Coast. Her reports include Hurricane Sally stories such as Mississippi Emergency Management preparations, Harrison Country preparations, and a bake sale for victims held by Ocean Springs students. As the prime-time news anchor, Rubach anchors the 9 pm. and 10 pm. Sunday newscasts and also anchors Mondays through Thursdays at 12 noon, 5 pm., and 5:30 pm. She also hosts the weekly segment, “Coastal Connections”, which informs viewers of events and happenings in south Mississippi and airs Saturdays and Sundays during the “The Today Show”. After graduating from Southeastern in 2015, Rubach started her career as a TV news reporter-anchor at KLAX-TV (ABC) Ch. 31 in Alexandria, La. before moving to WXXV in Gulfport two years later. Since 2017 she’s reported and anchored for both news and sports. At the Southeastern Channel, she anchored and reported for both the award-winning student newscast, “Northshore News”, and the award-winning student sportscast, “The Big Game”. She also produced for the student comedy show, “College Night”. During her time at the Channel, Rubach won a national Videographer award, a second-place Award of Distinction for anchoring and reporting for “The Big Game”.
