Former Southeastern Channel anchor-reporter Daniel Brown is now News Director of 12NewsNow at KBMT-KJAC-TV (ABC/NBC) in Beaumont, Tx. (DMA 143). A former anchor-reporter for the channel’s “Southeastern Times” news magazine, Brown started at KBMT in July of 2019. As News Director, Brown manages 12NewsNow news programming and oversees the station’s news producers, reporters, anchors, writers, photographers, assignment editors, editors, and the web team. Brown’s previous stop was as Assistant News Director for three years at WCNC-TV Ch. 36 (NBC) in Charlotte, N.C. (DMA 21). Prior to that Brown was Morning News Director of 11Alive for three years at WXIA-TV Ch. 11 (NBC) in Atlanta, Ga. (DMA 10) Before moving to Atlanta, Brown was a two-time Emmy-winning Executive Producer at WOIO-TV Ch. 19 (CBS) in Cleveland, OH (DMA 19) for two years. His first job after graduating from Southeastern in 2006 was as a News Producer for WAFB-TV Ch. 9 (CBS) in Baton Rouge (DMA 93). Brown has 15 years of journalism experience with nearly 10 years of managing newsrooms throughout the country.
