Former Southeastern Channel news reporter-anchor Raychelle Riley has been hired as a TV News Reporter for WVLA/WGMB-TV (FOX 44/NBC 33) in Baton Rouge (DMA 93). A former reporter-anchor-producer for the national award-winning newscast, “Northshore News,” Riley was hired by the Baton Rouge station within a month of graduating from Southeastern in December of 2020. At WGMB/WVLA, Riley files reports daily which reach viewers in 293,000 households throughout the Baton Rouge area. Prior to joining WVLA/WGMB, Riley was named Student Broadcaster of the Year for 2021 by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters at its annual Prestige Awards ceremony. Riley was honored by the LAB, comprised of all television and radio professionals in Louisiana, out of all college television students in the state. In 2020, Riley won the LAB’s prestigious Student Broadcasting Scholarship worth $4,000, and in 2019 she was Southeastern’s first-ever recipient of the Robin Roberts ABC Good Morning America internship.
