Southeastern Channel student director-videographer-editor Chris Arroyo has been named winner of the prestigious Emmy Student Scholarship worth $5,000 for the 2021-2022 academic year. Arroyo was one of 23 students from the southeast region of the U.S. honored with a scholarship from the Suncoast Emmys. He becomes the fifth Southeastern Channel student to win the scholarship. At the Southeastern Channel Arroyo has produced, directed, and served as audio mixer for a number of studio and live game broadcast productions, including directing a Southeastern soccer game for live streaming on ESPN+. Arroyo has also been the videographer and editor for a variety of field productions, including segments for Northshore News and the College Night student comedy show. He’s shot and edited faculty lectures and live forums, music and entertainment events, including graduation ceremonies and the Miss Southeastern pageant.
