Former Southeastern Channel news anchor-reporter Taylor Rubach has been hired as a news reporter and anchor for WBRZ-TV Ch. 2 (ABC) in Baton Rouge (DMA 91). Rubach moves to WBRZ from WXXV-TV FOX/NBC Ch. 25 in Gulfport, Ms. (DMA 161) where she was the lead anchor for four years. At WXXV Rubach anchored daily prime-time newscasts, including thorough storm coverage, and she also hosted the weekly segment, “Coastal Connections”, which informed viewers of happenings and events in south Mississippi. After graduating from Southeastern in 2015, Rubach started her career as a TV news reporter-anchor at KLAX-TV (ABC) Ch. 31 in Alexandria, La. before moving to WXXV in Gulfport for two years later where she reported and anchored for both news and sports. At the Southeastern Channel, she anchored and reported for both the award-winning student newscast, “Northshore News”, and the award-winning student sportscast, “The Big Game.” She also produced for the student comedy show, “College Night”. During her time at the Channel, Rubach won a national Videographer Award, a second-place Award of Distinction for anchoring and reporting for “The Big Game.”
