For the fourth time, a student-produced Southeastern Channel live game broadcast has been named one of the top four in the country by the Broadcast Education Association at its 2022 Festival of Media Arts. The October 30, 2021 football broadcast of Southeastern vs. McNeese State that was streamed live on ESPN+ was named a National Finalist in the “Video Sports Live Game Production” category along with a Michigan State basketball game, a Ball State volleyball game, and a Middle Tennessee football game. It was the fourth time in the past five years that a Southeastern Channel game broadcast has been named a National Finalist, winning 4th place in the country in both 2018 (basketball) and 2019 (football) and 3rd place in 2020 (football). This year there were over 1,600 entries from over 300 universities around the world. The winner will be announced on March 1st.
