Former Southeastern Channel producer-director Amanda Carlin is now the Creative Services Manager at WAFB-TV Ch. 9 (CBS) in Baton Rouge. Carlin moves to her new position after two years as the station’s Promotions and Commercial Coordinator where she produced, wrote, edited, and oversaw the production of promotional spots, segments, and commercials for WAFB. Before that, Carlin was WAFB’s Senior Marketing Producer for a year and Marketing Producer for two years. During that time she won a national Silver Telly Award in the “Campaign-Local TV” category for a Christmas promo campaign she produced, directed, and edited for WAFB entitled, “All I Want for Christmas in the 9News App“. She also produced, shot, and edited a commercial that aired during the Super Bowl and was featured in the Baton Rouge Business Report Magazine. Recently, Carlin won a Suncoast Emmy as part of a WAFB team award for a one-hour special on former anchor Donna Britt, entitled “Adorable Donna“. Carlin also made key contributions toward WAFB recently winning “Best Large Market TV Station” honors from the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters at its annual Prestige Awards Ceremony. In her new position as Creative Services Manager, Carlin leads the WAFB creative team in continuing to grow WAFB’s brand. She also works directly with WAFB advertising clients in creating campaigns for their businesses. As a student at the Southeastern Channel, Triay won multiple awards for projects she wrote, produced, and directed, including a student Emmy for the short film, “Insomniac”, and first-place regional awards for her short documentary, “To Speak Again,” at the WorldFest International Film and Video Festival and the Mark of Excellence regional awards given by the Society of Professional Journalists. Carlin graduated from Southeastern in 2017.
