Former Southeastern Channel videographer-editor-studio director Emily Blanke is now in her 10th year as Newscast Director for WWL-TV Ch. 4 (CBS) in New Orleans (DMA 50). Blanke is the studio director for WWL’s weekend evening newscasts and Sunday night sports show. She’s also the fill-in director for morning and evening weekday newscasts. In addition, she monitors audio, runs graphics and operates the studio’s robotic cameras for live broadcasts.
A 2012 graduate of Southeastern, Blanke was videographer for plays, graduation ceremonies, live sporting events and music concerts while at the Southeastern Channel. She also shot interviews, B-roll and reporter stand-ups for the student newscast, “Northshore News”, while also directing, switching and running studio camera for the news program. In addition, Blanke was studio director for the Southeastern coach’s talk show, “Lion Tracks, ” and also operated studio cameras for the student sportscast, “The Big Game.”
