Southeastern Channel alumnus Tara Barbe recently assumed the role of Television Production Instructor at the Tangipahoa Parish School System Advanced College and Career Magnet Center in Independence, La. As an instructor, Tara teaches basic STEM-oriented filmmaking and video production skills to high school students interested in careers within the communications industry.
“Tara is a passionate teacher who works each day to make the TV production course relevant to our students,” said center coordinator Shelly Gaydos. “We are so excited to have her as an instructor here at the Advanced College and Career Magnet Center.”
The TPSS Advanced College and Career Magnet Center is an innovative facility offering hands-on instruction within various career-oriented disciplines. In addition to motion media production, the center also provides introductory classes in nursing, computer science, forensics and video game design.
