The Southeastern Channel is pleased to announce a new underwriting partnership with North Oaks Health System.
The agreement extends support to several student-produced programs like “Southeastern Q & A,” which provides insights into campus life and operations, and “The Big Game,” an Emmy-winning program that highlights Lion Athletics, local high school and professional teams of interest to Northshore communities.
“North Oaks and Southeastern have a strong history of working together in alignment with our mission to improve lives,” affirms Jessica Bennett, the health system’s chief ancillary officer. “Our new partnership with the Southeastern Channel fosters a learning environment that helps students transition from academic theory to professional practice, while also promoting the importance of health and community engagement.”
“The Southeastern Channel serves as a vital resource for our students, allowing them to apply communications strategies in an authentic real-world environment,” notes John Zaffuto, the university’s director of student programming. “Here, students don’t just observe and take notes. They are responsible for the planning and execution of complex productions, including live broadcasts for national networks. We are excited to have North Oaks Health System on board in support of our mission to create a robust learning environment for our students and create content that furthers the university’s mission to lead the educational, economic and cultural development of Southeast Louisiana.”
