The Southeastern Channel won 1st Place in the Nation honors twice over the weekend at the College Broadcasters, Inc. annual National Student Production Awards convention in St. Louis.
The Southeastern Channel’s student newscast, “Northshore News”, won 2nd Place in the Nation honors for “Best Video Newscast” at the College Broadcasters, Inc. annual National Student Production Awards convention in St. Louis over the weekend.
The Southeastern Channel was named a National Finalist (one of the top four in the country) for a short film at the College Broadcasters, Inc. Visual Media Festival recently in St. Louis.
The Emmy Award-winning Southeastern Channel will produce, broadcast and stream live on ESPN+ Southeastern Louisiana University’s Homecoming football game with Incarnate Word this Saturday, Oct. 12th at Strawberry Stadium.
Former Southeastern Channel videographer-editor Steven Canatella is the owner of the Odideo Media Group of Mandeville, a media production company he started in 2015 which produces wedding videos along with commercial content for businesses and personal brands.
Former Southeastern Channel producer-director-videographer-editor Jeremy Gaines is now the Human Resources Video Coordinator for Performance Contractors, Inc., an industrial contractor company in Baton Rouge.
Former Southeastern Channel news and sports anchor-reporter Jaylon Morris, now co-anchor of the WXXV-TV Ch. 25 News Morning Show in Gulfport, Ms., currently hosts the popular “In Your Shoes” segment for the ABC/FOX affiliate.
WGNO-TV Ch. 26 in New Orleans (ABC) visited the Southeastern Channel Tuesday to shoot a special segment on the Channel’s national award-winning, live game student broadcast team which will have its second football broadcast of the young season air on ESPN+ this coming Saturday night, Sept. 21, when the Lions host Lamar.
“Pearl River Dam,” a news story produced by former Southeastern Channel reporter Amanda Kitch, has been named a national finalist as one of the top four in the nation for “Best Hard News Story” by College Broadcasters, Inc. for its 2019 National Student Production Awards to be held Nov. 2 in St. Louis.
