For the second year in a row, the student staff of the Southeastern Channel are the recipients of a Student Production Award for Best Live Sporting Event by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Suncoast Chapter.
Southeastern Channel staff members Carson Fryou and Brendon Smith were recently awarded individual honors at the Southeast Journalism Conference. The channel also received a national 2nd place award from the Broadcast Education Association for its production of the Lady Lions basketball game against LSU.
“College Night”, the Southeastern Channel’s premiere destination for student-produced short films and sketch comedy, was recently awarded “best comedy” honors by College Broadcasters Inc.
For the ninth time the Southeastern Channel’s student newscast, “Northshore News”, has been named the “Best College Video Newscast in the South” by the Southeast Journalism Conference (SEJC).
For the 11th time, the Southeastern Channel has been recognized as the “Best College Television Station in the South”.
Former Southeastern Channel sports anchor-reporter Dylan Domangue, now Sports Director at KALB-TV Ch. 5 (NBC) in Alexandria, La., has been honored by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters with “Best Sports Show” presented by the LAB at its 2023 Prestige Awards banquet in Baton Rouge, La.
Southeastern Channel sports reporter Taylor Nettle of Lacombe has been named Student Broadcaster of the Year in Television by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters (LAB) recently at their 2023 Prestige Awards luncheon in Baton Rouge.
For the second time in the past four years, the Southeastern Channel has won 2nd place in the nation for Best Video Newscast selected by College Broadcasters, Inc. at the National Student Production Awards in Baltimore, Md.
The Southeastern Channel’s live broadcast of the SLU-Nicholls State baseball game on March 25th has been honored with National Finalist recognition at the prestigious College Sports Media Awards in Atlanta, Ga.
