Former Southeastern Channel news anchor-reporter Erika Ferrando has been named the best TV news reporter in the two-state region of Arkansas and Oklahoma.
For the second straight year, the Southeastern Channel’s student sportscast, “The Big Game”, has won National Finalist recognition by the prestigious College Sports Media Awards which includes all of the major sports networks like ESPN, CBS, etc.

Southeastern Channel anchor-reporter Wesley Boone has been named 2018 Louisiana Student Broadcaster of the Year by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters from all television and radio students in the state.

For the seventh straight year and 10th time overall, the Southeastern Channel has won “Best College Television Station” honors in “Best of South” awards given by the Southeast Journalism Conference.
Southeastern Channel news reporter-producer Tara Barbe has won 4th Place for “Television Hard News Reporting” in 2017 “Best of South” competition awarded by the Southeast Journalism Conference. Also honored as “Best of the South” by the SEJC was former student reporter-anchor Jaylon Morris, who finished 9th in the “Television Feature Story Reporting” category.
A Southeastern Channel live basketball broadcast production has been named fourth best in the nation by the Broadcast Education Association (BEA) at its national 2018 Festival of Media Arts student competition.
