RICK SETTOON TO RETIRE
Rick Settoon, the Southeastern Channel’s general manager since its inception over 20 years ago who led it to become one of the elite college television stations in the nation, will be retiring from the channel and Southeastern Louisiana University effective August 5th.
LECOQ HIRED BY LOUISIANA PUBLIC BROADCASTING
Former Southeastern Channel producer-videographer-editor Christopher LeCoq has been hired as a Videographer-Editor for Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) in Baton Rouge (DMA 94).
TURNER HIRED AS WBRZ REPORTER
Former Southeastern Channel news and sports reporter-anchor Tristyn Turner has been hired as a Multimedia Journalist by WBRZ-TV Ch. 2 (ABC) in Baton Rouge, La. (DMA 94).
DOMANGUE WINS STATE’S BEST SPORTS SHOW
Former Southeastern Channel sports anchor-reporter Dylan Domangue, now Sports Director at KALB-TV Ch. 5 (NBC) in Alexandria, La., has been honored by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters with “Best Sports Show” presented by the LAB at its 2023 Prestige Awards banquet in Baton Rouge, La.
NETTLE NAMED STATE’S TOP BROADCASTER
Southeastern Channel sports reporter Taylor Nettle of Lacombe has been named Student Broadcaster of the Year in Television by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters (LAB) recently at their 2023 Prestige Awards luncheon in Baton Rouge.

For the second time in the past four years, the Southeastern Channel has won 2nd place in the nation for Best Video Newscast selected by College Broadcasters, Inc. at the National Student Production Awards in Baltimore, Md.

The Southeastern Channel will stream the 2022 Winter Commencement at for the Master’s hooding ceremony on Dec. 9, and both the 10 am. and 3 pm. graduation ceremony exercises on Dec. 10.
